Well written TEAFOR2. Women's emancipation was a long time coming. I remember the time when I was quite young and marched from one end of San Francisco to the other for women's right. Your Acrostic poem says it all.

Excellent job! I love this poem about the historic inequality of women. Unfortunately, it's still slanted in the wrong direction and seems to be losing ground as we speak. Given our political climate, this poem is timely in it's message. Thanks for sharing!

This is really cleverly captured I've not seen a poem of this structure, I see it's called an Acrostic. This is great a wonderful declaration of sentiments capturing womans utter limitations back in those days! Very well written, well done!

Hi T42,
Too bad there isn't a woman who would rise up to run against Donnie and Joe in the coming election for President of the United States. Hillary almost made it. It's just a matter of time. We all know that women are the stronger sex, and they want to prove it! Times have changed.
Nice acrostic poem!
Cheers,
Kimbob

The sad thing is that this is what it took for women to have any independency out side of the house...Everything was written by men for men. Thanks for sharing your empathy for our fairer sex. teafor2

This is pretty good. I think you could make it even better.

Indent the capital "I"s very slightly so they vertically synch with the other letters (without extra white space they look like they are further to the left).

Males <= misogynists may be a better word to buy consensus, and replace the ellipsis with a colon

Nepotism usually refers to giving things unfairly to family, which has nothing to do with gender preference. Unfortunately I couldn't find a single word substitution that gets you there. What if you did something like:

Regarding/Repealing
Avaricious
Tendencies
In
Orthodox
Nightclubs

That's my two cents. Thanks for a great read,

Harambe (for President)

Harambe, thanks for your comments and suggestions and examples.
I have been having trouble with my computer editor and unable to
align the left margin or center properly. I appreciate your input(s).

There are a could hacks. The most simple one is an extra space before the letter. If that doesn't work, you could throw a character in there and make its font color the same as the background, rendering it invisible. This is not a good permanent solution but most people will never know.

That's a great acrostic about this historical document. Unfortunately, women still weren't given the right to vote until 1920 which is later than other countries of the West. New Zealand was the first in 1893.
Thanks for helping us recognize the treasured rights we have today!

This is fascinating! Thank you so much for presenting this post in such a clear, informative way. Your clever acrostic reads fluently and doesn't suffer from the syntax issues that often occur in this verse form. My only suggestion would be, given that it was such an important declaration that it could benefit from being centred on the page rather than pushed to the side in the default mode of basic editor (as opposed advanced). But, otherwise, the presentation is eye-catching and the post an informative pleasure to read. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Debbie: Thanks for your comments, personal sentiments and great
suggestion. However, I tried to center this and with my 'poor' skills
around the computer, it got twisted out of alignment so I gave up. teafor2

I loved the subtle message here, your acrostic is spot on. Evidently over 100 women are killed by men in the UK every year, the worst countries for violence against women are Montenegro, Lithuania, and Latvia. During the pandemic in Spain there was a special word that triggered a woman suffering from domestic violence and they would say it in the Pharmacy and the Police would be called to help the woman. A fine post, I wish I had a six left for you, love Dolly x x x
