I loved it. We have a rule at our house - no politics! If that rule isn't followed it's not going to be a good evening. I enjoyed your poem. It's fun. It describes a gathering with friends so well. Love the imagery at the end with the dogs.

Thanks for your nice review. This one just flowed out - after i thought of what makes me happiest. I had just had a brisket sandwich the day before. It was too easy. BTW, I've been married to the world's meanest woman so he did not read or approve this poem. And the dogs? I have two. I say that any man who is married must have a dog. That way, there is at least one creature who loves him every day...
