My parents used to tell me that bees in the early fall would be so hellbent on collecting as much nectar as possible that they would get drunk. I used to watch them with amazement. Great poem. Gretchen

I am worried about this poor bee. I am sure the sun and nectar was very wonderful. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers, but I've struggled growing them in Texas. I guess it's too hot. In my newest novel, they are Sami's favorite flower. I enjoyed this entire presentation.

That's a cute painting for your humorous poem about the drunk bee. Those bumblebees really do look drunk sometimes and they love to sleep inside the flowers. A fun poem!

Hi Gypsy, I like the essence and the imagery of this poem. I could see the whole scene. Of special note:
drunk with sun and nectar
(I could use a little of both--lol.)
Perfect photo choice. A pleasure to read. Xo. M

Very nice poem. Your first line made me laugh. Your poem reads and flows well. Your last line gives the reason why the bee is drunk. Nice picture to go along with the poem. Nice job.

Beautiful imagery of bee behavior! It reminds me of a pear tree we used to have that yellow jackets would literally get drunk on the fruit, and then fly around banging into things. Sorry. Your poem was much more delicate than that. Very enjoyable! Julie
