Oh yes, some blind dates the windshield wipers might just do more talking than the couple. LOL That would be a horrible Valentines date. I enjoyed reading and found humor in this poem.

It occurred to me when I read this, that on a blind date, there can be a lot of silence, and wipers do cut through silence, I liked the black in your background too- reminds me of blindness. Dove

Ugh. There is nothing worse about being single than a blind date. Sometimes it can change how you feel about the one who set you up. Lol. Is this really the best you think I can do? I asked someone that once after they set me up. The date and I had nothing in common. I made my grocery list while he droned on and on about how he'd disown his daughter if she ever got fat. No thanks. Lol. He had a tiny bald spot that he tried to cover by fluffing the thinning hair around it. I asked him how he would feel if he went completely bald. He suddenly had an appointment he'd completely forgotten about. What goes around comes around. Gretchen

Hahaha... good for you. I hate that kind of guy. I went from bad relationships through my life and every time the relationship ended I felt apart.... thinking "see I always knew you are unlovable". Bipolar didn't help either. After my last relationship, I was alone for ten years. It was bad. My exhusband was the love of my life but I was wrong.
Anyway, I'm taking medication and living with my daughter and grandson... it's impossible to be depressed around him.

I like this one a lot, Gypsy. The silence says so much. It is really humorous or so sad... depends on the way you look at it. Well written with a punch and a fabulous verse for this Senryu.

I've always found windshield wipers to be great conversationalists when something isn't going exactly as planned.

Lol. Oh dear. I guess the blind date didn't go so well. I really liked "wipers slice the silence" as the conversation wasn't happening. The two must not have had anything in common. Well told story in so few words!
