Using the mailman as he delivers his mail is a brilliant plot device for spreading the information of the accident, and getting input from a variety of people through the town.
Another gripping installment!

You are one of those few people who always seem to pick up on all the senses of what's going on, plumb down the garbled static of a voice transmission. It's like being right in the middle of the action. Thanks for sharing.

Now you've gone and touched my heart. I didn't think anyone else would even pick up on the garbled static in the radio. Most miss out on the little things. To me, it's those minute details that brings more life to the story and the characters. I thank you, as always.

It's your details that make the difference. Always! A word here, and a phrase there, few do it as well. :-)

Don't tell anyone my secret, you'll spoil my image. LOL. I like to think I'm a nice and kind-hearted person, but I do have another side if provoked, and there are plenty of witnesses over the years. LOL.

Bobby was always an accident waiting to happen. You have successfully merged all the characters and their problems into a nice, cohesive story. There are so many plot lines, and you are weaving them well. I am very much looking forward to reading the next one.

    Good morning, Karen

Thank you so much for reading and the review. The plot thickens with Bobby's demise. Audrey will be torn and Dion's life depends on Judy, the townspeople, and so much more.

Small towns do get the local news very quickly. A shame Audrey overheard the first part of the news about her brother. For all his faults she loved her brother. I fear for Dion now that the townspeole know he had drugs in his car, even though they were planted. Well written.!

Yes, news and gossip travel faster than the speed of light, especially with the internet.... and it isn't always the truth. Audrey will be torn in so many ways and so will the townspeople. It's a small town with little respect for those involved in drugs.... Hopefully, the truth won't get buried.

So, whatever Bobby had become he was still loved probably, even if it was the old Bobby, but I think he'll still be playing a role even if it's the drugs will be the drugs playing that tune, beautifully written, well done, blessings Roy

It's a puzzle how the heart leads us one way (regardless if someone is far from perfect) while the head hopes to make us see. Audrey will be torn in both directions especially with all the other burdens she's facing.

Geez. I lived in a real small town once. It was ALL like the old "Telephone" game....

Everybody knew 9/10ths of what was going on and the other 1% morphed from rumor to rumor with each "neighborly" report.

You handled this chapter great, Carol.
Offering the flavor of the town, the semi-truth that will stick to each person involved and the very real heartbreak Audrey had for the seemingly unlovable Bobby.

This is going to be so tough on Gabby!

Good morning, my friend and thank you for the review. My error is fixed. With the internet, news and gossip travel faster than a wildfire... with everyone adding their own flavor to it as well. It appears as the town folk can be swayed either way and Dion's future hangs in the balance.

Dion's reputation is already in doubt because people talk and get things wrong, or, more accurately, get things the way Bobby wanted them to be. Audrey is free of her troubled brother, but she doesn't see it as deliverance. This accident is making a dozen different problems for the people of the town. Best wishes in getting them untangled.

With tolday's internet, news and gossip travels faster than a wildfire, I think. Poor Audrey was already carrying a heavy burden and now, it's even worse. It looks like there will be problems everywhere.

Well, I guess poor Jackson was forced into giving Audrey the bad news much faster than he would have liked. Hopefully, there are enough character witnesses and the truck driver's witness to vouch for Dion.

    Good morning, Helen..

Yes, poor Jackson hadn't planned it that way for sure, but then life never goes exactly as planned. Hopefully, Judy survives and Dion won't be punished for something he never did.

I never lived in a small town. It was interesting to see how news spreads, whether it's right or wrong. Everyone in the town will have an opinion. You don't need a newspaper. I wonder what Gabby's reaction will be when she hears her father is dead. And how will Dion prove the drugs in his truck were not placed there by him? Well Carol, you've set yourself up for a lot more writing and I'll be here reading.

Good morning, Lorraine Now that almost everyone lives on the internet, I am positive news (whether true or not) travels even faster than ever before. Gossip is like a wild fire...

How on earth Audrey could love Bobby, I don't know. But I'm now getting a lot more worried that Dion is going to be in a lot of trouble and there won't be anyone to prove he didn't put the drugs in his truck. I hope Judy lives and can tell them all what happened. Great writing again, my friend.
Love and hugs, Sandra xx

One can never understand what makes the heart care for some of the worse people...making excuses when the brain knows it isn't so. A lot hangs on Judy's survival. Thank you as always,
