I certainly agree. I hate a scam too but I deal with them daily and I don't really know what to do about. I've had about thirty calls asking if I've received my new SS card. I assure them that I got it and it's beautiful as I'm hanging up. OF course they're plan on me saying that didn't get so they go about getting my personal info.

even if you sued one of the companies generating the AI calls, what are the odds that you would ever see any of the money awarded to you? I don't understand the need for AI, it seems that it's going to create more trouble than its going to fix. Thanks for the heads up.

I saw an article on the news today about how AI is re-writing history. The kids who get all their info from the computer are going to be totally brainwashed soon. It's really scary.

The trouble for most people is that AI generated robocalls sound so authentic and legitimate that it is virtually impossible to identify them as being AI scams. It's yet another unpleasant cultural "advance" to have to worry about.

As someone who almost fell for a scam that took four hours of talking and being convinced the FBI was on the line, and I think they were real humans, I can't tell you often enough that I hate scammers also. I wonder if AI can be even more convincing than three humans; I know I fear it can. Very good article.

I work with a pharmacist who keeps up with AI. He has shown me how it's changed and evolved over the last few years. It is very sophisticated now. It's downright frightening. Wonderful information here. Gretchen

Good rant! One thing I am learning now in my older years, is that legislation is only as good as enforcement. They can make laws out the yin-yang, but if they don't or can't enforce them, it doesn't matter.
