I knew a man who divorced his wife, because she put on a few pounds, not a lot, but a few after their five children were born. My thoughts on this, is if it's unconditional true, love, that would never have happened, because he loved her spirit, her heart, not her figure. That doesn't change who she is. Maybe it's just me. Thank you for sharing this poem and causing me to ponder.

You are right, Barbara, unconditionally love is for better or worse regardless what we look like or if we get sick.

Thank you very much for your excellent review and kind words.

Another fine poem, Gypsy----I'm not quite there yet, but let's just say I feel what Paul
McCartney must have felt when he wrote the lyrics to the song of the same title, about what then he saw as ancient, and he had many, many years to go before he got to that age, disbelief

Yes, when I was young I thought 64 was very old but it's not. Maybe times have changed.

Thank you very much for your excellent review and kind words.

I used to listen to that song wen I was quite young. Sixty-four sounded so old. I had a vision of two decrepit gray hairs holding on to each other. I'm sixty-two now and have a very different view. My how things change. Gretchen

That's true, I told Barbara the same. When I was young Sixty Four sounded old but now not so much.

Thank you very much for your excellent review and kind words.

OMGosh, beautiful from start to ending. Your romantic free verses take my breath away, touches the soul in your sweet and loving words in this poem. Just something about the message of tenderness and mature love that lasts forever.

WOW! I used every six I had already. I know, it is only Monday. That never happens. But please accept my virtual 25 for this one. I loved it that much. In fact, LOL, maybe I will hire you to write my wedding vows for May. My husband and I are going to repeat our vows in the church on our fiftieth wedding anniversary. I always wished we had done it there in the first place, but we were young, I was 18 and we eloped. Tried it on our fortieth but I was sick on the couch with cancer, so that didn't work.

I'm sorry, don't know why I am going on and on, but you feel like one of my best friends. Anyway, I just wanted you to know how much I admire you and your lovely poem. It was exquisite. May have been my favorite so far. Lotsa Love, Debi

I remember that Beatles' song! And I think this would be great for the Valentine's Day contest. Yours feels more confident that the love is "evergreen" and will continue beyond the 60s!

Yes, I checked but the only thing I haven't done is a romantic story.

Thank you very much, big sister.

BTW I think I have covid. I have really bad cold and I can't smell anything. I'll take a test tomorrow.

I love the Beatles. It's a good band for karaoke... songs are easy to sing and sound good.

    Good night!

    Love,
