And so it goes in the vegetable garden. Your POV brings an entirely different perspective, but having gardens of my own, I'm on the side of the birds. LOL
Well done, very cute story.

How sad! A love story with a dramatic ending. Absolutely adorable choices of words and images. Very well done. I enjoyed your flash entry.

Anthropomorphic vegetables lend quite a bit of humor! I'm a little horrified that Tess is missing her entire backside. I mean, I don't know how you come back from that. I did not see the ending coming. Normally those worms are horrible for the garden, and you made him the hero and martyr! Really funny start to finish. I enjoyed it! Julie

thanks, Julie. I had a beautiful tomato on my tomato plant and a bird had eaten the whole back half - a weird thing to inspire a story. :) actually, it''s a weird story. And I don't like worms. But thanks for reading and I'm glad it struck your funny bone.

Well, that's a true friend who would give his life for no good reason. A very unique fantasy tale. I sure this one will stand out for the readers. It feels more like a nice children's tale, except for the ending. I would reconsider that.

well, I would probably have to rewrite the whole thing. As I said, bittersweet. But thanks for reading and the suggestion.

Oh, you don't have to. I only meant if you wanted it as Children's fiction, rather than General.

Think I'll just leave it at weird. It is.

Yep he did. Sometimes we can be exposed to discomfort or, in this case, a bird eating us, but we still should do the right thing.
That's how I was raised. Excellent, exciting, emotional story that I enjoyed. I didn't plan on the alliteration. ;) lol
Best wishes,
Alex
