Okay, not fair. I almost drooled on my laptop. This doesn't smack of 'fiction' to me because you described me and Mexican restaurants. LOL Nah, I wouldn't go with the eggplant anything in place of the Fajita! Nicely done. Good luck.

Thanks to you, I tied for 3rd place - just about enough to buy a barbacoa burrito off the truck down the street. But, even better was the opportunity to reach devotees of Mexican Food like you. NOSOTRAS UNO! (We are one!) To my Mexican friends, I am known as El Gringo Veijo (the Old white guy). Eating Mexican food is always a celebration with me. Glad I could share the joy with you and others! While in the Navy overseas, and in the later years I lived in New York and traveled on business, I developed a similar love of Indian food. Curry. Very spicy, be sure to order mild. Start with "Butter Chicken" with rice and naan bread. Always great to hear from you. Reese Turner

Since I am on Social Security, I am not dependent on poetry income. So, I write for fun and to escape HGTV which my wife watches constantly. And, I like meeting nice folks like you of similar interests. Thanks so much!

You've written an excellent flash story for the epicurean who might just fancy some Mexican cuisine. Seems to have touched all the bases, or basics in this case. Mexican food seems to get a bit hotter as one ages.
Nicely done
Good luck in the contest and with the food.

Thank you for stopping by my place and your nice review. My research for this piece was exhausting, but I enjoyed the plate. You must have noticed, however, that I am among the very few who can wrap a treatise of Mexican cuisine with one of Shakespeare's most famous quotes? I owe it all to Margaritas! Thanks

Was your stomach rumbling and your mouth salivating as you dreamed up this 100-word dash for the reader? Quite the choices! My gut would be weeping in pain. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for checking in on my romantic fantasies about Mexican food. In fact, my father used that quoted line in his speech about me at our wedding rehearsal dinner. In Massachusetts. Those Yankees just laughed. But, my wife of 47 years loves Mexican food as much as me. I was inspired for this creation by breakfast. I had some Tex-Mex left-overs for breakfast! What a way to start my day! Thanks again!

Sounds like you have the match of your dreams - a lovely wife and Mexican food. My stomach couldn't take it, but to each his own. Enjoy!

Don't get me started! After being married to a Yankee, I fully understand how my side lost that war!
