I want birthday gift because it's short and easy to imagine. the gift is the beauty of the garden flowers, wrapped in sunset light (like gift wrapping paper... it's a juxtaposition.

There are so many "births" in this poem - the birth of the blooms and the birth of the new day in the sunrise. Everyday must be a kind of birthday in Nature. Nice thought!

This is a wonderful Haiku. I love the personification of the sun light as wrapping paper for a birthday present. Sun light is much needed these days, even in LA. I hope you will stay dry in the rain storm.
