I feel the same here, I shall not be buried, but of course no one knows what will happen to us when we die as we are not around to choose, a fine post, love Dolly x

A interesting and well written 20 syllable poem offering on a burial ritual that is not to my knowledge practiced anywhere anymore. A as close as one can get these days is cremation which we did for my mother in law at her daughters determination. Thank you for Sharing your thoughts in poetic form.

Thank you for your kind comments on my poem. Just trying to show a different take on a a somewhat controversial point of view.

If I'm not wrong, this is the expression of the wish to be cremated. I've always had a hard time with my loved ones wanted to be cremated as just the the thought of their bodies being burned seems dramatic and etc. But, I have to say, the way you've expressed the wish to be cremated through this piece makes it sound so much better. You almost make it sound beautiful...

This is lovely imagery of a powerful kind, which speaks of warmth and heat and passion as a response to the end of life. Thanks for the share and good luck for the contest. :)

Thank you for taking the time to read and review my poem. I am glad you enjoyed it. And also happy you liked the artwork - though I consider my writing passable, I am a lousy artist. But I have found that as a writer, my words can be paired with AI to create some pretty cool images. This was one of them.

Hi Sherry I really like your offering for the contest, and I really find myself in your poem. "Do not bury me
In the cold, dark earth
Rather let my soul soar
With rising flames." Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

What beautifully expressed imagery! And your comparison to the Phoenix enriches it also. I get it, worms or flying free. No contest! Thanks so much for sharing this lovely poem. Best of luck. Julie
