I can totally relate! I had a tough labor with my first born. The nurses kept cheering my efforts by shouting--
"Push like you're having a bowel movement!"
(I failed to see the humor)
Three days later, ready to go home with my son, I was SO constipated!
I was most uncomfortable and not yielding the "prize" they needed to see before I could be discharged...
I rang the emergency "bathroom" bell.
In walked one of my labor nurses who didn't miss a beat as she shouted
"Push like you're having a baby!"
I saw the humor...and laughter did the trick.
How you tamed this into perfect limericks is beyond me...
But great job!
