"Picasso" is a funny poem; it takes the much-celebrated and often strange works of that artist and sees them in the light of 'Wow, this guy's f-----up.' Which, albeit crude, is basically true of all of us. Without seeking to write a summary of sociological discernments, we humans are between a rock and a hard place. And for the most part, we ink our way through this dreadful experience of life in an effort to stamp our strange adventures on the map of being. I usually avoid giving 6 to direct, simple statements, but this one did just what was needed.

Congratulations on the contest win Ginda. I chuckled reading your 5-7-5 poem, because sometimes it is good to know others have bad days too, and Picasso looks like he had a few. Again, well done.
Cheers

Hi Ginda,
Sometimes it is hard to understand Picasso's paintings or even know what he is painting. I like what you get out of this painting. I can see it too.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Congratulations on winning the contest.
Have a great day and rest of the week.

I understand that Picasso's early work was much more to my liking. I agree we all have bad days. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. Good luck with the contest.

I love it! Humor, tells a story, meets the requirements of the contest and run to read. Can't speak to its rating as a poetic piece -- I don't have the expertise -- but I enjoyed the smile it brought. ann

I wonder what the inside of his brain looked like. How did he see that and say "Boy, this is a good one!" I want to see painting of people that looks reasonable.
I like some abstract work too. But for me, people should look like people. Nice work here. Karen

lol I love the humor and know this will get a great response! Should do well in the contest, as it is definitely a different take on the master of cubism.

We simply cannot accept that every painting is a masterpiece. Thanks for reviewing.
