Are you speaking about the lyrics to a song?
God Bless America, united we stand. Putting our hands over our hearts when we do the Pledge of Allegiance, is a wonderful gesture. I hope we never forget those lyrics. I love America! I know you do, too.

A good reminder of how far we've fallen as a nation. It's hard to watch as we implode. Voting has consequences, and I don't think we chose too well this last time around. Only my opinion along with half the country. We better wake up soon.
Nicely done. Good luck with the contest.

I STILL KNOW THEM!!! And, like you, I still love them and think they're gorgeous. Thank you for this brilliant reminder of how important these words are for our country. Good luck in the polls, Mystery Contestant. You've done an important service here today. xo

I can still sing the words to so many of our countries songs, whereas today I don't believe these sounds are taught or sung in any grade level. These are songs are nation was built around. A real shame they are no longer taught.

I agree, those songs had meaning, and taught us pride for our country. Thank you for the review.

How sad it is that so many have forgotten the meaning of patriotic pride and civic duty. You have chosen simple words and structure to get this point across and they do a good job of it.

Sadly, your words ring so true! What will it take to draw us together? Even God's Son condemned to a horrible death didn't arouse all. We have been given a great land, the best country in the world, but can't learn our lesson.

It does feel that way since it is not stressed in our schools anymore and patriotism seemed to be lost on so many.
Sad commentary on us.

A great theme with a salient message for this particular contest! All well presented and a stirring reminder of our need for togetherness: "We must all learn to live together as brothers, or perish together as fools." (Martin Luther King." Well done to you! Good luck! Debbie

Boy oh boy does what you wrote ever bring back memories.
When we came to America from France (long story) and I started school I remember standing up in the small auditorium to say the Pledge of Alligence... which I did know..
I remember hoping no one would realize that my mouth was open, but no words were coming out... only a low humming sound...
Great write mystery writer.

A great little poem with a very unsettling truth. Beautiful picture of Old Glory flying free. I'm afraid nowadays both God and a proud country have been forgotten. Thanks for sharing! Julie
