I love watching people talking with their mouths and hands at the same time. My brother can't utter a word without a gesture. What a wonderfully written story. Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Thank you very much.

As someone who lives in a region heavily populated by the descendants of Italian immigrants, I could really relate to this! It is definitely a cultural phenomenon.

I loved the scene where he was on the water bed. If I were gauche, I'd ask if that's the case with your Italian girl, too, but I would never do something like that...nope...but if you WANTED to spill the beans, well...
Good luck in the contest!!

A well written and fun story, and an excellent illustration o accompany it. The Italians are certainly very expressive with their hands! Good wishes for your entry.

A very imaginative and humorous post. Yes I know about all those crazy hand gestures. They never stop and could show Edward Scissorhands a thing or two! A fun story complying with the 50 word prompt. Well done and good luck! Debbie

Ciao poet, you have your first vote.
Poor Edward, those scissor hands were all over the place and were more a curse than a blessing.
if only his father before dying had replaced the temporary scissor hands with human one
Italian hands are all over the place also but they are a ( colourful) asset , they help people communicate and express themselves non verbally...
.. during the Roman Empire to overcome the language barrier, hand language was the first means of communication used between the different speaking populations.
Edward only said 169 words in the whole film ,
having hands would have given Edward an extra means to express himself and most probable avoid being driven out of town.
I cried so much when he went back to his mansion forever.

Ciao my friend. Yes, the ending was a bit sad. I enjoyed the movie.

I had to rad the story a few times until I could understand what you were saying. After that, I read the comments, and that opened it up even more. I am left seeing the wild hand jesters.

LOL! We Italians do have a reputation for talking with our hands. I missed seeing the movie, the concept wasn't my cup of tea. This gave me a chuckle though, maybe because I can relate. Good luck with the contest.

Oh gosh, is this ever funny and I relate to it.... I use my hands... not as much as when I was younger (and I am not Italian) when using my hands my husband would say.."Hey, Lisa you are not Italian!"
Now years later he uses his hands and say "Hey, Bob you are not Italian!"
