You use great descriptors for this poem that strongly convey the emotion. When I see the sky like this, I am reminded that God is an artist and this is his painting.
I had one question:
"sunsets like a mother hen"
I wasn't sure if you were comparing the sunset to the hen, or if you meant the sun sets like a hen.
