I understand. I feel the same emotions and sometimes have the same conversations with myself. But I don't pray for God to take me. I'm pretty sure my input is not needed. And, I don't know about happiness once I slip into the light or the night. Very well done. Terry.

I wish I had a six-star left. This is simply brilliant. This stands out among a chorus of off notes. This is sadness. The picture is absolutely exquisite. Great, fine work. You explain the feelings exactly. Good luck. Karen

The loneliness and sadness of older people is reaching epidemic proportions. The younger ones are often simply "too busy" and that is to their shame. Best wishes for your entry.

This is so heart wrenching and touching. I could feel his loneliness and how he wavered back and forth on ending his life. Sometimes when we reach a certain age, mental state, or pain level we wish for it all to stop and for the next part of our journey to start.

I like this very much. I watched my parents grow old, and now I'm old myself. I've not had thoughts like these, I'm in pretty good health, but my mother voiced her concerns about living too long, not to mention all the pills. Good luck in the contest. I think you have a good chance with this one.

I'm kind of thinking you feel sad about life or are you speaking about someone else you know? I would recommend perhaps trying to keep busy and not think about the medication you need to take for your illness. I'll pray for you! Even so, you wrote a sad poem.

Thanks for your review. This is not about my circumstances, but those who tend to get abandoned by family when they get older.

Old age is a challenge and those you reach it are usually quire resilient and survive without feeling this gloomy, a poignant post for the contest, love Dolly x x x

This is a sad poem. I think when you get older and live alone. It is very hard. Especially, if family doesn't come. The picture goes well with your poem. Great job

This is a moving poem that reminds us to remember and take care of our elderly loved ones. They many times don't say anything or don't show it, but they suffer in lonely silence...

You have a smooth flow of rhyming words that captures a feeling of sadness for this elderly man. The verse about taking the pills is so true, often the elderly are taking many medications. Excellent entry for this contest.
