Hello Gypsy, whenever I think of chestnuts, I think of Broadway in NYC where the street vendors sold toasted chestnuts and big soft-pretzels that were not soft at all - lol, but true. Your poem has good sensory appeal.
Well done. A pleasure to read. Xo. M

Thank you for sharing this poem with us. I couldn't help but smile because it brought a childhood memory back to me. I was pretty young, and my dad had never had chestnuts. He bought some and attempted to 'roast' them in the oven. Needless to say, they exploded. Mom wasn't happy as she cleaned her oven.

Warm chestnuts can warm hands and the tummy. But because it was done by mom, it also warms the heart. A sweet little poem, especially if you like chestnuts and some don't. Lol.

I have happy memories of walking in the park in cold winter nights and buying roasted chestnuts from street vendors. I love them.
Thank you very, big sister, I'm happy you like it.
Love,
Marival
