Hi Bill,
Hey, this experience could mean a new occupation for you! Have you ever worked in a fast food restaurant before? How about a slow food restaurant? I thought "Culinary" was your middle name!
I am glad to hear that Kathy is back home, though. Maybe you should hire someone to come in and cook for you both?
Love this part,
"within the realm
of healthless folk and aider's aids"
Also, wonderful humor in the second verse of this free verse poem.
Cheers,
Kimbob

My middle name is Cattledairy, which I have always meant to find out about.

You were named after a farmer! Unless it's a town???

Hooray - she'll be home soon and she can sleep in her own bed and won't be woken up every few hours to be poked and prodded with medical tools. I'm sure your cooking isn't that bad. After all, there's always Hot Pockets!

Got home and had to call the ambulance to head back. She went catatonic.

Yes, you might turn out to be a hospital chef. It was depressing that the food servers at the hospital where I was wore black uniforms. Escape is certainly wonderful. They had staffers called Personal Care Techs at the hospital where I was. Made you feel like a robot was caring for you. judi

I am reading this poem out of order, I know, but I am so glad I found it. There is a bright light in your attitude that shines through clearly in the touch of humor. I enjoyed it. ann

Actually, the hospital food wasn't that bad. My trouble is, since covid, I can't east much and often get sick. At least I've put off some weight! I hope your wife adjusts well to her homecoming. Sure wish mine could visit in person and not in dreams!

She'll feel like she never left the hospital at mealtimes. But the joy of being home will outweigh any lacking culinary skills, though I think you just. I'm betting you're a good cook.

Wow Bill. That was an amazing amount of honesty right there. I did not know you had it in you. My hat is off to you. It is my hope that you do not force your missus to look back on her hospital stay.

She will enjoy being here, because her roommate there is an elderly woman who never speaks.

There's your humor surfacing to the top of the mire. It's good to see. Not sure if this is old or not, but I'm glad that she will be back home. That's the best place to heal...even if the meals are not divine cuisine, the company will make them feel like they are. Hang in there. ~Wy

I love your humour here Bill and your buoyant personality will help your wife to heal, but she had better keep you out of that kitchen! Hospitals are the same the globe over! I usually live on tins and tuna and avocados when I have a spell in the hospital, try salads Bill, you can't spoil them! A fun post, love Dolly x
