Winter's Hostile Visit.
The past cold blast shows what the Arctic air can do.10 total reviews

The freezing cold blasts of strong "Artic air" winds can be bone-numbing.
"City blanketed in snow" - winter storms can shut down towns and completely paralyze them grindng everything to a halt.
The last line of the haiku says it all when faced with these kinds of blizzards "Thawing is welcome."

This has some good examples of literary techniques. The s sounds enhance the feel of the environment and setting. The use of a word with a b in it speaks volumes as the pronouncing b creates a bit of a disturbance in our mouth. Good job.

Oh yes, it seems you're getting coolish weather up north at the moment, and I guess you're looking for some warmth to snuggle into, I love this haiku, and welcome to fanstory, well done, blessings Roy

We live in Tennessee and it was brutally cold. The kids were out the whole week and parents were about to explode. What a wonderfully written poem. I wish I had a six for you.
Have a great day, and God bless.

I despise Winter because of these blasts of Arctic air and lingering snow. We're told a welcomed warm spell is coming.
Congrats on your first milestone and good luck in the contest.

This is a good Haiku about nature, specifically, WInter. We have some icicles thawing outside our window. You chose very good descriptive, senory words to bring this scene to life and the image matches perfectly. Best wishes!

This is an excellent Haiku. The theme of snow never gets old... But I like how you took an unexpected turn in your last line... most poems begin and end with the glories of winter, but you took a different route ending with a unique yet realistic stance. Many of us can't wait for that thawing! Also, welcome to FanStory!
