Now Miranda has a real problem .what and how to tell Waylon about his father.. at least she need not worry who killed him and waste finding his murderer....

That's very true. But thinking he was dead was easier than keeping secrets from Waylon. Thanks so much. Gretchen

Believe "someone whos happy" should be someone who's happy, the contraction of who and is?

"he say in lieu" should be he says in lieu.

"jack ass" should be jackass.

Tough position to be in whether to tell Waylon or not.

Seems good ole Dougie screwed up royally.

Poor Waylon, that is going to really upset him. Whatever Dougie has gotten into it means Miranda has to lie, and then if he suddenly comes back to life again, Waylon will wonder why she lied. That is the trouble with lies, they come back and bite you. But, at the same time, if it's going to keep Waylon safe... This was an excellent chapter, Gretchen, the plot thickens, and I am looking forward to the next part. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Hello Gretchen,
well, decisions, decisions. It's not a lie if you don't speak it. Sometimes you have to look beyond the right now to see how your choices might impact your (or someone else's future) I think Mitch is right. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Miranda has just made a major decision, not that I expect her to kill him although she may wish she could. He has placed his son in danger, and she loves Waylon and never wants to let him go. Now that she knows how he cheated people, she does not like Dougie. I am not sure old Mr. (Smith?) is who he appears to be either.

Mr. Starling is a very questionable character. One of my customers at the pharmacy is very much like Starling. There is just something not quite right. Gretchen

Yes, this is one of those cases when it might be better for everyone involved if Doug just disappears for good, but we all know that however worthless they are, it's hard to lose someone we care about. LOL.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad Miranda called Mitch. She needs him in her life. They are good together. I hope she continues to keep Waylon in the dark. I also hope they find out what Dougie's into. I really like this story.

I love the ending of this chapter! The realism of Miranda's ending thought gives the entire chapter a new intensity.

I can't help but ponder the scene where Waylon tells Miranda her mom will pick him up for the movies. I feel there's something in the cards with that scene. YES! That's my guess for this chapter. You should be used to me by now! Lol. best, JohnC

I'm sure Miranda would feel a little better knowing that she has told Mitch. He seems to be advising her to let Dougie keep thinking his father is dead. I wonder how they will handle this. I'll be anxious to find out.

Another great chapter, Gretchen, which propels the emotions of Dougie's disappearance forward in excellent prose and dialogue. There's angst, lovely humour and love from Miranda as she tries to navigate through this mysterious dilemma. Thanks for sharing. Debbie
