Hello Bill... you won't be the first to have things around the house, or vehicles, that need a bit of attention, but just seem to slip our minds. I hope your car and truck are an easy fix.

I wouldn't hurt. We have busy lives that continue to need things and use things up whether or not we pat close attention. Good luck to Kathy and you . Karen

Hi Bill,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having some difficulty with your vehicles. You can't do without the heater when driving in winter. Defrost is a must or you won't be able to see out your front window. And a battery won't last long in sub-zero temps. It needs to be started regularly. But listen to me! I'm a terrible procrastinator. There are many things I need to do, but I always talk myself out of it. My garage is full of junk. I can barely get in the Equinox... and I'm not a hoarder. I just don't do a clean-up. I did finally clean out my dresser drawers of holey socks, though. (I just kept one pair that had a small hole in one sock. Too nice to toss, red and black plaid, and warm!) I need to paint the walls down the basement stairs. I need to hang up some nice pictures that we have. The pantry needs a going-over. The cupboard door hinges below the island sink needs to be repaired. I have been meaning to stain the back deck. Oh, it's sad what I manage to put off till later! So don't feel bad, buddy~
"I guess I should fix things."
Cheers,
Kimbob

Yes, sounds like on-going maintenance is necessary, but it's a bit hard to think of everything when you are busy visiting your wife. There is no mobile service to come to your house to fix both? That would be a help.

YIKES! Are you okay? It sounds like you're in a busy place and maybe you should just call someone to come and tow the truck to the mechanic. I know you are totally capable of doing it yourself but your health and safety is really important to helping Kathy's recovery. Hope you get the right vehicle working safely.ð???

I stopped at the Auto Parts store for a fuse and was told only the dealer can fix a fuse issue. Huh?
reply by lyenochka on 19-Jan-2024
Weird. Because of all the electronics?
reply by the author on 19-Jan-2024
The fuse for this part is not replaceable from AutoZone.

Oh. So the "dealer only" is just an excuse...

I drive an old car, it is a 17 year old Berlingo, and the clutch is a bit dodgy! Fortunately I never have to scrape the ice off it and it has only done 100,000 kilometres which is low for its age. I used to own a new mini in England and I was always proud of my car. These days I just want to get from A to B. I sympathise with your dilemma here and if I could fix my clutch I would have a go. I fixed the gear knob when it fell off! It actually disintegrated! Ha ha ha, but you guys drive automatic cars don't you. Never driven an automatic before. A fine post Bill, love Dolly x

This is a reminder of what we car owners need to do. I love the picture. It reminds me of summertime, and cars coated with dust have washed me on them. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Goodness me! What bad luck you were having with your vehicles. I know you got all the work done immediately and everything was fine after that. I'm going out to start my car after all this cold weather. Wish me luck.

Ah Bill, I just defended you and your abilities, only to find that you really are kind of useless. Now I feel foolish. Here I went all the way in talking about all the things you had accomplished, and you went and let me down, now we both look kind of foolish. LOL.
