Another fine poem, Gypsy, and I don't know how Mom's do it, I was a little bastard----okay, now I'm a big bastard; but Mom's must have the patience of Job!

I have noticed myself, standing and sort of rocking like I used to do when my boys were on my hips. I guess moms never stop being moms. There's a reason God gave us rounded hips. LOL Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem and presentation with us.

yes, god new we were going to need them LoL I still feel that closeness moms have with their babies, and older too. I also remember putting my son on my lap and rocking him.

Thank you Barbara. Have a wonderful weekend.

The joys of parenthood. We relish those steps of independence in the midst of our children's youth. Then would do anything to go back when they are older. Carrying children around while doing mundane tasks on my mother hips was pure joy. Great poem. Gretchen

Hi Gypsy, your poem is so very true. I can remember setting the table with one hand and holding my infant in my other arm. I always say that a mother has to be an octopus with eight arms as well. Of special note:

dads have big shoulders
to carry toddlers here and there
(And toddlers just love it. I can hear them squeal.)

Well done. Xo. M

Oh, I need to be very careful here now don't I MariVal?

Hmmmm, I feel this may be a trap set by a very cunning person of the female persuasion... yes, I'll tread a careful course.

But of course, mother-hips are made to carry little bundles of love. I've seen some amazing sights over the years with just how valuable mother-hip are in multi-tasking. I'm leaving it there as my mind wanders off onto another course... contain yourself man, there's people watching!

And mother-hips are earned through sacrifice and should be honoured as such, as does motherhood. There, that brought it back some.

Yeah, dads can have big shoulders... and the lofty heights do excite some rug-rats... and hey, the panoramic view is something to behold, but nothing compares to mother-hips... sorta reminds me of a koala, that close relationship between mother and child... that strong connection and bond of a closeness you could never have atop of shoulders... so I'm still treading carefully, as I would always go for the cuddle value.

I always enjoy everything you post MariVal... why should this be any different?
Love the image... that little cutie looking back from the perfect positioning... beautiful presentation!

With our thoughts we create...
the groove of life.

Warmest regards,
James.

    Hello, James,

I love the word mother-hips. Mom died when I was ten but I still miss that closeness. I was a mom's girl. I was always close to her like a little v
    barnacle.

I love the word, mother-hips, brings good memories.

Thank you for the exceptional and detailed review. I always appreciate your support and kind words I know taking the time is not easy.

Lol. Well, it's interesting but some kids prefer their mom (and their "mother-hips") while others prefer their dads. These days both moms and dads work hard at parenting.

Yeah, this is a joke. My grandson prefers daddy's shoulders. He likes to be carried up the stairs on daddy. LoL

Thank you very much, big sister.

    Love
