Now It Is Too Late
A brief thought about my father3 total reviews
Comment from Bill Schott
This poem, Now It Is Too Late, captures what I think most people from our generation have experienced at our fathers' deaths. The closure of emotions never fully expressed and now to never be. It is our first glimpse at the end of possibilities.
I found this: My (entire) life went by...
Happy day.

Thank you Bill.

My father died in front of my wife and I. My wife had just told him that we loved him. I had been rebellious growing up. He had a massive heart attack and died instantly. I learned to always tell those close to you that you love them, as you may not have another chance.

I learned a lot in life, unfortunately most too late.

Powerful and moving piece. Fathers are interesting creatures :)
I hope you dwell more on the good times than the loss, my friend. That is where the joy is.
I would offer a critique regarding this line:
"My entirely life went by"
I think you would be better served by saying something more along the idea of, until his life went by, maybe... That's a stretch... This is a great piece, but that line sets it a little off key somehow.
Either way, this is your work not mine. Just my opinion.
No other SPAG critique to offer!
Thank you very much for sharing!!

Thanks, T.A. I'll look at that and consider my words in comparison next time.
