This is an exquisite poem detailing in beautiful language not just their color but also their mores and movement; living in such an exotic setting, 'They pause near banyan trees to watch a sunset'

Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of your life with us. I haven't been to Hawaii and have never seen a Nene Goose, but your descriptions are vivid and evocative. Thanks for sharing!

I too have only been to Hawai'i once (2006), but I truly loved it there. Heartbreakingly-beautiful scenery. This poem immediately took me back. I love how you have given the geese such character without anthropomorphizing them. There are lovely turns of phrase here as well. I particularly liked "They waddle-pad around on lush, soaking wet grass".

I read little poetry and don't know the first thing about it. But, like prose, or general conversations, it's basically words, which consume most minutes of everyone's days and keeps us up to date on what others think and feel. Great job! Thanks for sharing.

You clearly have much knowledge of these birds and have filled your fine free verse with an abundance of informative detail, skilfully conveyed with excellent alliteration and complemented by that powerful, eye-catching image! Well done and good luck! Debbie

Where I live, the grounds are full of delightful seasonal birds. Most noble, I believe, are the geese who stroll the grounds, proudly presenting their families, in perfect order. I had to watch out feeding them, though. When they got to know me, they followed me everywhere. This was a beautiful poem.
