Sea Bass per Your Request

I feel like I've horned in on a table for two and am eavesdropping, lol!
Having said that, your recipes are, indeed, always "delish", and Christine is one of the best poets on this site, so if she's critiquing anything you're writing, then you've got some excellent help:-)
I'll file this away in "John's recipe box" - thanks!

What a nice compliment to Christine and a very interesting way to cook sea bass. Do you think lake bass would taste the same if the recipe was followed exactly? I love fennel salad, but am not too fond of kale. Thanks for the recipe and the interesting way of writing that makes cooking sound like fun.

You can always sub spinach for the kale.
Thank you for reading and sharing.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that.

I don't care for fish, but you actually made it sound tempting. If someone prepared this for me, I would try a bite! The way you wrote this provided great visuals that were very appealing. The variety of ways to cook it is impressive and helpful for the reader to figure out which one they'd like to do. And grabbing a Guinness in the middle... that just made you a relatable human, really nice touch!
I picked up on one typo...I didn't read through the other comments, so it's probably already been pointed out to you, but just in case here it is:
"baby kale into the pan a cook"
I assume that should be 'and cook'
Thanks for sharing! Julie

Julie, thank you for this fine review. I?m glad you would at least give it a try though you don?t normally eat fish.
And, after 25 reviews, no one picked up on that correction. Thank you and it?s corrected.
Enjoy our day,
John

Thank you so much for that vote of confidence!

You seem to have so many spices and wines and other things at your disposal that I've never purchased. I don't enjoy cooking for one but your food does sound flavorful and delightful. I enjoy the feeling I'm watching a gormet cook prepare a meal.

I currently do not have the ability to cook like this, but I will before long I hope, and will remember what you wrote here. I love fish. My favorite is fried catfish after all I am southern. This is making me very hungry. Thanks for the recipes as always. Karen

Okay, so there is a lot here. First let me say that I am on Team Sea Bass. Love it. Actually love all seafood. Okay all food. But I digress.
Great recipe. The Limerick was light and fun.
I find that the opening is often the hardest part of most of my pieces.
Catching the discriminating eye while not giving away the farm takes tact.

That sounds delicious. Thanks for the directions for many ways to cook a fish. I like the detail in this post. The play with form and structure as you added poetry and first-person narrative was unique.

Yum! I'm not a huge fan of fish. I think I was soured by it when It was undercooked, and it wasn't meant to be a sushi dish.
I tried many times to enjoy it after that, but my buds won't budge!
I love all shellfish, especially with pasta. Do you have one for me?
Thank you for sharing, John! It's nice to have our own personal chef in the wings of FS. Best, JohnC

John, sorry for the late response. I held off so I could jot you down on my notepad that I owe you a seafood pasta post!
Thank you for the great review, recipe request and six stars.
Cheer,
John

What an outstanding posting, John! I loved everything about it, even your poem at the beginning.
This was a terrific recipe-post showing all the different ways to cook sea bass. I will have to try grilling it outside (to try to keep all odors of fish away from my supersmeller wife who can't stand the smell of fish!). It sounds delicious, as does the kale. Marvellous job! - Jim
