I enjoyed reading about the Beetle Bailey comic strip. The was one I always read whenever I got the chance. I never realized the inspiration for this was based an actual person. I also didn't know it was ever Censored so that is something else to look forward to reading.

A lot of hard work and research went into this chapter, as have all of the others, but this one might be the most memorable yet. Thanks for sharing another fine post.

Hello Brett,
I had no idea that there was so much to a comic strip. I used to read Beetle Bailey when I was young and newspapers were still the way most people got their news. It was never my favorite cartoon, but it was on the page with the rest, so I read it. I'm impressed by the amount of research you have done here. Were you employed in a job that required researching all manner of things? If so, I'm sure you were at the top of the class. Well done.
Have a blessed evening.

Have had several freelance articles published in various sources that required researching topics. Perhaps that is where said talent originated? Appreciate your comments and the review.

Brett, I will put up my hands and confess that I've never heard of Beetle Bailey comic strips, and no wonder. I grew up in Denmark, Europe.
Now, Having said that, I read this with fascination. I will be looking forward to the next installment. Ulla:)))

I am and have said many times how much I am enjoying these installments on Comics. I have always been fascinated by comic book art. Learning the history of these comics that I grew up with is fascinating. One spag. You forgot to capitalize the W in Mort Walkers name towards the end of the post. Otherwise, a fabulous piece of writing. Gretchen

Brett, this is very interesting what you have penned about the comic strip Beetle Bailey. I did not know about all these things you wrote about. I used to love reading the 'funny paper' as it was called when I was growing up. Thanks for sharing! Teri

I vaguely remember Beetle bailey, but it was not big over here. Hagar the Horrible we do have. You have done a lot of research to present this series on cartoon and comic strips. Well done.

It's really interesting witj cartoonists seem to be people like us who live their lives through the characters they create, ot maybe actual experiences that spiced up to make a good story, like most people tell tales, beautifully written Brett, blessings Roy
