Goodness, you must have been worried out of your skin! Kathy was really poorly. I'm hoping as I read on, the prognosis will be better. You are probably her best medicine, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Hi Bill,
I'm sorry you have to go through this, old buddy. I know it must be tiring for you, and worse for Kathy.
I sense just very slight humor in this poem as you try to make light of a mountain of misery.
My favorite phrases,
"the next ladder of relief"
and,
"Then, it will be Wednesday."
It may feel like you're on your own, Bill, but there are many people praying for you and Kathy.
Thinking of you, across the miles,
Kimbob

Bill, dang it all! This is a heart-wrenching read. In so few words, you captured a wide range of emotions and fears that many of us know all too well. I don't know if a prayer from me will help, but it has been said. I miss your humor, but I understand why it is MIA. Best wishes. Terry.

Hi Bill, I'm sorry that Kathy, and you, are going through this. Unreal. We can put a man on the moon, but we can't get a doctor's appointment in a timely manner. The wait is endless and exhausting. Let's not even begin to talk about the insurance companies. Perhaps, Kathy is on Medicare. Amen if she is. I had stage 3b renal cell cancer, so I know how frustrating this can be. I also have just one kidney. I remember the days of the doctors coordinating the appointments. It wasn't fun, and I'm sure that what you and your wife are enduring is far worse. I leave a prayer for both of you. Sincerely, LateBloomer ~ Margaret

I am reading this stuff backwards. She has a long recovery ahead of her. She will be impatient, sometimes, and try to do to much. Other times she will want to give up because of pain or plain irritation.
She will cry, yell, call you names. I went through this stuff many times and I know. Saintly, perfect individual that I am. I could be vicious. With my incredibly vast vocabulary I could eviscerate someone for hours without breaking a sweat. So prepare yourself as best you can. She is losing a part of herself and she will hurt and grieve. You can write me anytime. Karen

Thank you, Karen. Kathy has used up all her harsh words for me and now can only kiss me.

Gut-wrenching, Bill...
I am so sorry that your beloved wife is facing so many challenges... as are you.
I can only send my healing thoughts and positivity your way.
Your poem resonates with deeply with me, and it is very well-crafted in terms of format and expressing the challenges that await both of you...

Stay strong!

This brings me back to the endless series of hospital visits I experienced with each of my parents. I am thinking of you both as you progress through each step along the way and hopefully move gradually onwards and upwards. xx

Having to deal with so many specialists these days is extra complicated as no one has the overall big picture or a holistic overview. Wishing a speedy recovery for Kathy and great wisdom and good care by everyone involved.

Having a stroke is my biggest fear. The days must be long for you and your wife as you tick off appointments and wait for those learned doctors to give you both advie. Each doctor has his specialty now.

She is waiting to wait, as her kidneys are going into dialysis tomorrow, to get her to Physical Therapy, and eventually all the rest.

Ack! Those delays are maddening! So many specialists are involved. I wish they would stop bureacratizing (yeah, I made that word up) medicine! Continued prayers for Kathy's healing of all her parts! ð???
