New Year's eve brings a little bite and clawing from some of nature's greats. Nice entry and deserving of my vote. You've ended the year on a good note, looks like the new year is starting off nicely as well.

It was their first time mating for the season.

If you watched the first video they were caught on camera at the 7.00m mark. (biggrin).

Jackie should lay her first egg within 5-10 days. The second should follow 2 days after the first.

Shadow adores Jackie, he loves to lay on the eggs ..at times Jackie has had to push him off in the pass.

He also takes very seriously his role as father. He let Spirit, their daughter who was raised successfully two years ago, boss him around.

Both work a lot on the nest.. Shadow has a habit of bringing extra long branches ..I swear at times Jackie acts as if she is saying :really, Shadow ?

Once it was so long that at one point he knocked Jackie and she started to go in a flap..they are so much fun to watch.

A real couple each with their quirks.

Thank you for reviewing my entry.. Yes I hope so too.

I was sadden that last year was blank.. did you follow them raising their daughter Spirit ,two years ago. Such an amazing journey.

A day after Spirit hatched it started to snow , I was in total panic but her parents kept her warm Shadow love to lay on the eggs and takes his father's duties very seriously.

Thanks Kerry, watching Spirit hatch and being raised two years ago was lovely.

Jackie and Shadow celebrated too ( biggrin) . The moment was caught on tape , on first video towards the 7.00m mark .

Last year Jackie laid two eggs one was about to crack but then nothing happened .

Jackie and Shadow continued to sit on the second egg but nada , eventually three weeks over hatching period they left the nest and crows ate the egg . Presumably it had not been fertilised.
