This chapter helps the reader see once again how family dynamics makes such a huge difference in one's psychological and physical well-being in this mortal world. Even things like family meals and being able to bathe, rest, and talk openly are like hidden or not-so-hidden blessings that we cannot take for granted.
Little suggestions:
"We haven't had a chance to talk," Mrs. B said. "You came here soaked to the bone looking frightened with large bruises on on your arm. Perhaps more, who knows but, something's obviously occurred my dear," she said gently.
"Tell me Dear, what happened to you."
Try adding or moving a few commas around, like this:
"We haven't had a chance to talk," Mrs. B said. "You came here soaked to the bone, looking frightened with large bruises on on your arm. Perhaps more, who knows, but something's obviously occurred, my dear," she said gently.
"Tell me, dear, what happened to you."

Hello Lea,
I'm of course delighted that at this juncture of your life, things have taken a turn for the better. Of course everyone's life is marked by ups and downs, and no one has a consistently good experience every day, there are bound to be bumps in the road. I hope that this is the beginning of good things in your life, but I'm waiting for whatever the next issue is going to be as well. Nonetheless, for now, things are looking up. Hopefully you're getting the idea that not everyone in the world is out to take from you. Goodness does exist, and you're overdue for some.

Yes indeed there are many lessons along the way so I had to learn boy if I could talk to that naive girl back then the things I would say however this is not to be my life was destined to learn things the hard way was a tough road I still learn things the hard way but the efforts always there thank you again for this wonderful review I hope you get everything you wish for in 2024 have an awesome day!

You look much better than I've seen you young lady. I (comma after 'you')

perhaps instead of seemed the word was alien to me.... would be stronger..
As far as your authors notes saying that you should have known earlier...well, dearest lea, you were in denial... how could you know when you had not really experienced the outside world.

Hi Lisa thank you so much I went ahead and made those changes as you suggested and yes it does help to get it all off my chest probably one of the healthier ways to do so rather than do what my heart in her child would like I must be the adult and choose the healthier way and this seems to be it thank you again for your wonderful review for reading and offering your kind comments and suggestions for change they are valuable I hope you have all you wish for in 2024 thank you again!

Oh dear, I've just lost the review I've just done for you. This, as ever, is an excellent recounting of the ambivalence you feel, even though all the signs are good. It's, of course, natural because it's your survival mechanism kicking in. Your bruises, too, seem to be an unquestioning part of you, the life you've led. You're almost surprised that anyone should take any notice of them. But there is suddenly hope and acknowledgement here and it seems ready to embrace you. Some small edits: (intro) outpouring (one word); merest (no 'a'); (main story) para starting; I didn't know how to take it - (O)r (new sentence. But so gratifying that there could be this shelter in the storm. With reference back to your intro, it reminded me of a broadband ad that runs in the UK - Why stumble when you can soar! Take care and my best wishes for your recovery to continue. Debbie x
