Shelley,
You created a terrific poem for this contest. Your overall presentation raised you to the highest rung - congrats on that achievement. Each segment has deep meanings. Your concluding one is my favorite.
Mark
P.S. While you did not capitalize "i," I do like e.e.cummings format style (-;

Yup, band-aids do come to our aide when we receive a wound. The band-aide comforts and protects our injury. Seriously, does Jesus keep forgiving if we keep covering them up?

Very impressive, poetic, and touches not only the heart, but the soul. Words unspoken of pain, tend to eat at the soul, when the explosion happens, hopefully the pain is not on others.

This is a beautifully expressed and presented verse, poignantly and vividly listing the sorrows and hurt that have impacted so deeply, beyond the capacity to frame them in words. Great job! Thanks for sharing and good luck! A strong contender. Debbie

This was one of the more creative approaches to the 34 word contest. Beautiful presentation and white font combine to accentuate your message. It is difficult to treat a broken mind and lost dreams with bandages of words.

I think the wonderful thing of having old scars, is the forgiveness of imperfections comes through the cross, they can be healed, dreams, in a general sense can be retained, I've found with age, dreams become less self generated and more US generated, they change, beautifully wrutten, blessings Roy

You did a fantastic in presenting us this thought provoking poem in exactly the required 34 words. That is not easily achieved.
I feel the pain of lost words with your words. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us and good luck in the contest.
