Ciao poet!
You now have 2 votes. ( sigh)

Two sayings most people have heard of.

And in some situations it is a helpful mechanism to open people's eyes..selfish thinking.

But in certain situation like when human suffering is involved , I don't think we need to walk in the victims shoes to understand their sufferings.

I don't need to suffer hunger or constant thirst to understand the ongoing plight of the children in Gaza. What's going on there is pure evil and anyone that gives Israel crimes a pass is just heartless in my eyes.

Reading and listening to all the many heartless standpoint on the web about the war in Gaza despite more than 10,000 children have been murdered , made it clear to me that to many DO sadly need to literally experience famine , thirst , have a limb ripped off , see loved ones blown up or crushed under the rubble to finally understand the pain and sufferings of the children in Gaza.

Despite the timely topic out of the 30 that read your thought provoking words , it has received only 2 votes.

That says a lot.

I have come to believe that many readers who vote wish to stay on the lighter side of things and not get buried into thought. Too much effort. I always appreciate your insights. Thank you for the vote.

You hit the nail on the head.
The situation is really bad , we are close to a Holy war , Israel is playing with fire America could stop all this : no arms , war over

but it lets Israel dictate .

When American soldiers start to die I m sure the American people will start to take notice and care ☹️

Some contemplative philosopical musings about life and the need to let go of our self possessiveness, and see the world around us as it might be imagined by the next Joe on the street. There are wise thoughts expressed here, all pigeonholded into the too restrictive limit of 200 words. While I felt the bit about finding a pair of glasses on the bench when he sits down a bit too covenient, it did set up the very nice phrase, 'The optics of life become a unified vision when life is walked in the shoes of love'. Well done!

Fascinating little piece of prose and a great response to the prompt and entry to the competition. Excellent use of symbolism and metaphor to give us a true message about love. Well done and good luck.

What a lovely reflection and I think you're selling yourself short - I think this is quite philosophical and should prompt some reflection for your readers. I really like the combined image of the glasses and the statue and your conclusion is a very valid one. Good luck for the contest.
