In this thought-provoking poem, the author delves into the potentially delicate relationship between a prophet and a higher power, highlighting how the prophet's words can bring about both blessings and repercussions.
The opening lines, "The Prophet's word is God's gain, blessing a time of Grace," establish a sense of divine influence and explore the idea that a prophet's teachings can elicit positive outcomes. As the poem progresses, it introduces a contractual element with the reference to "a tenth of tithe" and "the deal." This suggests a transactional nature to the prophet's dealings, almost like a spiritual agreement.
The poem skillfully contrasts the initial prosperity, where "the years turn to gold" and "the King's coffers yield," with a subsequent downfall. The abrupt shift in the narrative effectively conveys the intricate nature of faith and how it can lead to betrayal or disappointment. The phrase "the blessing turned to a lie" captures the image of a promised reward that ultimately fails to materialize.
As the poem progresses, it explores the consequences of seeking divine intervention or guidance in a materialistic sense. The line "the gold returns not, then the King's coffers stop" highlights the negative outcome that accompanies an unfulfilled spiritual transaction. It raises the question of whether it was a genuine deal with God or merely the illusions of the prophet.
Overall, this poem prompts the reader to consider the complexities of faith, the intentions of those who claim to communicate with the divine, and the potential consequences of engaging in such dealings. The professional tone adds weight to the subject matter, enhancing the reader's engagement with the ideas presented.
The author effectively conveys their message through concise and impactful language, allowing the reader to contemplate the intriguing narrative woven within the poem. This piece invites the audience to explore the relationship between prophets, faith, and accountability with a sense of curiosity and reflection.
In conclusion, this poem offers a profound exploration of the repercussions that can arise when dealing with divine guidance. It prompts readers to question the motives and authenticity of those who claim to convey messages from a higher power. Through its engaging narrative and skillful use of language, the poem provides a thought-provoking experience for readers seeking to delve deeper into the complexities of faith and its consequences.

Any time we focus on God the return blessings are heartwarming. All of His promises come true and tuning into His perfect goodness can chase away a lot of dark clouds.

The purpose of the tithe is not to line the pockets of the powers that be, but organisations would never stand or function anyway, but more an act of sacrifice, a way to plant seeds of prosperity, not a brick to be hurled by the nasty, cynical hand of the critic, bless you, Roy

Fate is one of those fickle things we tend to succumb to in life and also have no control over. Luck is another magical ingredient in the mix, a fine poem, love Dolly x x x

A tenth of tithe is an interesting phrase, implying a tenth of a tenth?
Is this poem referring to current events and how they relate to Gods prophets and blessings and warnings of the past,
Or is this purely more reflective of the past?

This could be present or past as the old paths are always the same no matter what era they tend to be in ... a tenth of a tenth is not 1% but a larger amount determined on the deal. Here the tenth is taken for the tithe making it equal to what we are commanded by scripture in the Holy Bible to the use for charity or the church at large ... I liked this one !

Ah gotcha. Definitely true about the past and present.

Excellent ... too true !
