Gypsy,

Yes, in the animal
kingdom, the males are more beautiful and colorful. I prefer the human form.

Thanks for your well-written peahen/peacock poem.

Mark

Very flamboyant are male peacocks. They seem to know what their colorful feathers do. They even take my breath away. A beautiful poem about a spectacular bird. Gretchen

Whether a male peacock or human, they try to strut their feathers to attract the female.
Well done both in imagery and imagination.
i enjoyed the read.

Thank you for sharing this poem and presentation with us. I took this poem a different way than was intended. I got to thinking about how often women fan a man's feathers, i.e., his ego, then I wondered how often a man fan a woman's ego. I have a feeling men's egos get fanned a lot more.

Smile...

It's nice that the male of the species is tasked (blessed?) with preening and strutting and wooing the female!

Poetic justice!

Literally!

Doesn't this sum up so much about human nature as well as avian? We are not so far evolved as we like to think. As ever, you've incorporated stunning imagery, both visual and written, and really helped us to see the broader metaphor within the seduction dance of the peacock. Thanks for the share!

Those peacocks sure know how to get the attention of the peahens by "fanning their feathers." They do like being on parade for the "hot hens" and only they can see the hotness as we are distracted by the peacocks.
