Very well written with a great idea and a fine message that needs to be said and has been a problem with humans since the dawn of time and may continue to be so great entry. You are absolutely right. But for forgetfulness, a thousand well intentions are flushed, and untold masses suffer deprivations. And so avoidable.

Nice poem. I really liked the wavering rhythm of the free verse, and the imagery was excellent and original. "Hope fluttering on tired wings" really captures the experience of the world today, where so many people seem to just look after themselves or try to get away with whatever they can get away with. The question at the end is a challenge; will we be one of those who turn their back on the forgotten? estory
