Seldom does a story bring a sentimental tear to my eyes. I've been everywhere and seen nearly everything - good and very bad - soldiers lain in pieces, to some just needing help to cope. Families having lost their loved ones to those being reunited. Such a story of warm heartedness, giving through suffering, and the thought that Santa might just be real enough, to satisfy a youngster's heart, thinking about her father, missing her mother, and the ring that joined the two.

This is a very nice Christmas story, warm and wholesome. I think you have written a short tale that the contest committee would be hard pressed to pass over. I saw nothing that needs a second look.
