I enjoyed your poem very much. It flows well and the messages great. I believe that every young girl at the age of 12 to 15 to read the proverbs and read proverbs 31 and that godly woman in that program.

Pat, I appreciate your very kind comments for my Proverbs poem. I agree that the young women of today would benefit from hearing what it is God wants from us. There is a saying that I read once that says, "If we don't teach our children to love God, the world will teach them not to." What a sad thought. Thanks again, my dear friend. Debi

Hi Hon, yeah I joined, I reserved my spot and for some reason when I went to put it together here, I grabbed the general write editing booth to do it. I don't know what I was thinking, but by the time I realized it was too late. It was a big, "DUH!" moment for me. LOL. So I went back to the club and copied the information to at least make it look like I had entered thru the club.
I was so mad at myself. I will be more careful next time. I am just glad you found it. I look forward to your reviews because I know this one was a little more like my normal writing, I knew t was following the guidelines.
So thank you again for the lovely comments. Lotsa love!! Debi

-Lovely artwork and nice presentation, Debi.
-Your notes are appreciated.
-You wrote a good poem sharing your thoughts
-A very good opening verse establishes your premise.
-I like the theme of restarting in verse two.
-A very good concluding verse that shows how
beliefs we have in His guidance is a great reward.
-Very well done. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Debi,
Thanks for sharing your faith in God. I enjoyed reading your thoughts in this spiritual poem.
I especially liked these lines,
"And I ask Them to lead my way, and shine for me a light
That's why I try to hand the reins to God each time I write"
When I led the Youth Choir at Grand Bay Baptist Church (started that ministry in 1977), I was always on the lookout for good contemporary Christian music. And I discovered so many wonderful Christian artists... Don Francisco, Wendy & Mary, Tim Sheppard, The Imperials, The Zion Mountain Folk, Dallas Holm, and others. One song I recalled as I read your lines, "Front Seat Back Seat", from the 1977 "Praise" album by Dallas Holm.
"I was runnin' from the Master
And I tried out every new thing I could find
Myâ??lifeâ??turned into oneâ??disaster
Without the Lord I almost blewâ??my mind
I was sittin' in the front seat
Tryin' really hard to be the driver
Thinkin' I was makin' real good time
But always windin' up the late arriver
But now I've been tryin' out the back seat
And I find it is a very great relief
Now I'm ridin' in the back seat
And I'm leavin' all the drivin' to the chief
I went barrelin' out full speed ahead
I went runnin' every stop sign that I'd see
Thinkin' I'd give the Lord a shortcut
But I found out He don't need no help from me
I was sittin' in the front seat
Tryin' really hard to be the driver
Thinkin' I was makin' real good time
But always windin' up the late arriver
But now I've been tryin' out the back seat
And I find it is a very great relief
Now I'm ridin' in the back seat
And I'm leavin' all the drivin' to the chief"
The kids always loved the songs I picked out.
We aren't perfect. We make mistakes. But we get up, dust ourself off, and go again! I like the way you put it...
"a new beginning when my Lord lets me restart"
Nicely penned! Thanks for letting me remember those good old days!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Awe, I absolutely love your song and compare it to driving. I actually have written a poem that is called, God, please take the wheel. It is a poem another poem about me trying to do it myself and how I have screwed it up.
I have to see if I can find it. But I love your song.
Thanks for the awesome review and comments and I appreciate your gracious six stars too, my dear friend.

I like this epic poem about the essence of the Christian faith as you experience it. There are way too many fake Christians mainly on the right who are so concerned with owning the libs and preaching anti-LGBT hate, that is good to remember that there are true Christians like yourself who walk the walk and talk the talk.

Hi there, Jake, and I appreciate your kind and respectful review and comments.
There is something wrong with anyone who calls themselves Christian and has it in their heart to hate. We may not always agree on everything, but that should never affect a friendship. Thanks again Jake for such a kind words and also your friendship.

Hi again. God. The most amazing conundrum in the world. He gives us free will and when we mess up, He forgives us unconditionally. His love is the truest form of that word for He could with one thought knock us all out and yet He wants us to thrive and be happy. This poem is a thoughtful group of thoughts and feelings. Thank you for sharing.

You picked a difficult passage to write about but you did it well! Your last line explains why your words ring so beautifully true. You give the reins to God, as we all should do. Just one little question..
In line 6... on God I' turn my back... Is this supposed to be I or I'd or I've?
Well done in rhyme scheme and syllabic count per line. Lovely artistry too!

Hi Tina, that little apostrophe in there was a mistake, but thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Debi...just today my daughter's thanked me for teaching them about Jesus. They were listening to some music I played a lot as they grew up...Selah. " You are my Hiding Place."
I didn't realize then how much it would impact tthem. We have to keep planting seeds in our adult children and neighbors and friends, etc. Needless to say, I cried happy tears when they texted me today. My instant response...Thank you,Lord! He gets all praise.
I'm not on here much but I will try to keep an eye out for your work!

Tina, you are so sweet. Thank you so much, and God bless you for being the kind of mother who knows it does make a difference. I think about what I read on facebook, if we don't teach our kids about Jesus,, the world will teach them not to.
Thank you for sharing that awesome story with me.

You are so right. The world will grab their attention. We have a mission as moms! I appreciate your fanstory friendship so much!

God is well aware that we are imperfect beings, and he forgives our mistakes. We do our part by recognizing our mistakes and asking for his forgiveness. Those who knowingly do wrong and feel good about it, are doomed. Some even brag about their misdeeds and how clever they are because they got away with it. There is no wisdom in these fools. I am sure that God is well pleased with the sincere efforts of Proverbs women such as you my dear sister. God loves you and so do I

An encouragement to all women to look beyond what is right there. Try to connect yourself to something tighter and give yourself to it so you may be apart of something bigger.
