Nothing ever goes as planned when doing detective work. I like the unexpected encounters that pop up for Mitch and for Miranda. No one is getting out of here unnoticed. LOL

A week away from my computer has put me well behind on my reading and reviews, but I'm racing to make sure I don't leave any of my regulars out. I've missed seeing what my favorite writer's minds have been twisted up in. Of course, for me, stripper chicks are always fun. And I hope you'll know I'm just joking. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, I've seen some who take striptease to a whole new level. It honestly becomes an art form. Others it's just "rutting in the gutter" (as my mom used to say.) LOL. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

Most amusing and excellent piece of writing as usual. I love her strength as she goes into this unsavoury place. The ex-husband sounds like a real catch! x

Farley was a real catch. Just like the plague was a catch. Lol. Thank you for this. Gretchen

Hello Gretchen,
another great post gal. I liked the way that you pointed out the word affair to describe the act of adultery. It's like if we put ribbons and bows on a cow patty, it's somehow something we want to take home. I feel bad for Mitch; obviously he's uncomfortable, and to be confronted by one of his daughter's friends working in a strip club would be almost unbearable. It shows his character. I hope Miranda is taking note. Thanks for sharing gal.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

Thank you, Tom. An affair sounds almost classy. Cheating is anything but classy. Thank you for this extra star. Very kind of you. Gretchen

    Hello Gretchen,
I'm always amazed at how common adultery seems to be, like it's no big deal. Tell that to the spouse who's been cheated on. The betrayal would be overwhelming and forgiveness uncommonly hard to give.

"they might not always agree with you, but the good ones always have your back." So true. I never had a relationship like that. I like Miranda and Mitch ... you create very believable characters. I like the way she took her ex-husband money. LoL. Well done. Another intriguing and entertaining chapter.

Oh, this was fantastic, Gretchen! Classic Miranda all the way.

I especially like that Bill's NOT probably cheating, that Farley is as entertaining-without-intending-to-be as ever, and that the guy at the door "Looks like he ate a Buick." HAHAHAHAHAHA. You're so freaking funny every single chapter.

In this sentence:
It's the same swarthy smile that used to greet me back in the good old days.
I don't think "swarthy" is the word you meant. That means dark-colored complexion. I'm pretty sure you want "Smarmy" there...like an over-dressed guy who thinks he's sexy and slick, but he has the undertow of gross and uncouth? That sure sounds like Farley to me.

Anyway, FANTASTIC work moving the plot forward...and I'm glad Mitch got his $40 back!! xo

Thanks, swarthy wasn't the right word. Glad you pointed it out. I'm so glad you liked it. Thanks for the extra star. This was the first chapter in a long while that I was really proud of. Glad it was Rachelle approved. Gretchen

This is hysterical. You write the Tracy-Hepburn style very well. For free photos go straight to the motherload at Pinterest. Just mention where the photo came from in your author note's. I loved this.

Marinda's so smart. LOL She has Mitches back
and is looking out for her x'es wife and kids as well. She was married to that piece of s;;t? I bet she will find Rita's husband has the janitorial job there. Still, I wouldn't want my man working there. UGH! Farley is right, She is something. Mitch is too. He's a keeper. LOL Nancy:)

Thanks, Nancy. Poor Miranda was married to that walking bag of testosterone. He really has little else to offer. Lol. Thanks for the extra star. Gretchen

Well, Mitch is undoubtedly out of his comfort zone. His reaction to the situation makes him a super-plausible character.

And Miranda, of course, never breaks stride.

I can't wait to see who the janitor is! Great, Chapter, Gretchen! Best, JohnC

Thanks so much, John. Mitch might not have been as uncomfortable had Miranda not been there. But seeing a child's former friend and most of her naughty bits is bound to be unnerving. Gretchen
