I like this verse that adeptly uses words to describe the brevity of a dragonfly's attention span in any one place. It's temporal be flitting is very much 'in the moment'. Wonderfully written, Gypsy.

Another lovely haiku accompanied by exemplary artwork. I know that female dolania mayflys only live for five minutes, but I did not know about dragonflies. I googled it and, not counting their time in the water as larva, they usually only live one to eight weeks. Thanks for sharing, Gypsy!

You somehow manage to find the most fascinating, and magical pictures to match you beautiful words.
You really are, hands down, my favorite poet on here. That's saying a lot in a field of so much talent. There are several others I really like, but your mind is just splendidly creative.
The reflection in the photo is exquisite.

Beautifully written and illustrated haiku poem, Gypsy. I'm always so impressed by your haiku and tanka poems. You make then look so effortless, but I know that's not the case.
Sending you my best today as always.

Wow! A poem and science lesson all at once. I did not know their lifespan was so short. Nice poem, special pictures, and good research. Have a very good week.

-Lovely artwork and nice presentation, Gypsy.
-Your notes are appreciated.
-Effective nature and seasonal imagery
describing the dragonfly and lotus flower.
-We get dragonflies in the summer and they
like to perch on top of the bird feeder. I
think they enjoy the sun.
-A very good satori line.
-Well done.

Another fine poem, and I can still hear their humming wings as they swooped across our swimming hole on a sultry endless summer day that is only possible in the days of our youth

This is a fine haiku with a lot of meaning contained within a few words. Serene presentation as I am also enjoying the moment.

I love dragonflies and this one looks like an Emperor one, very common in my part of the world, South Wales, UK, probably because the weather is wet and temperate. I like the delicate way you've described its movement and a sense that it will not be settling long. Beautifully presented, Gypsy, as usual! Thanks for sharing. Debbie x
