I am really enjoying how Ben and Beth are working together and how you are showing the power of prayer. It's much better than the Marvel super powers. I liked "She swelled herself tall and full. She forced that energy into her prayer." Great job!

I love the way God stepped in and allowed Beth to seen a glowing and her not being afraid that her prayer would be answered. This was a neat way to handle these men. Your last line has a typo. "Gut shot kike he is."

At first, I thought Ben and Beth would be charged with a crime, but fortunately there were witnesses who saw everything that happened.
I'm sure Beth understood Ben's calling on an intellectual level, but it was gratifying to see her understand it on an emotional level too and to actually participate in it. She was very brave, but I guess she felt the calling at that moment and responded accordingly. This was a very good chapter, Wayne. - Jim

That was surely a dramatic occasion as the two gunmen were subdued. Perhaps Larabee is done with his bullying if he lives after being gutshot. Isn't this about the time that California had a huge earthquake? Will God send them to help with the rescue and care of the injured?

The San Francisco earthquake was in 1906. That was why I sent Ben there to preach that 'a storm was coming' and to get D.L.Moody there to preach an 'Awakening'. Ben was led by God, but didn't know that the 'storm' was going to be an earthquake.

Beth is strong and courageous and is developing a faith similar to Ben's. This chapter reminded me of the children's song "My God is so big, so strong, and so mighty there's nothing my God cannot do ..." Well written.
