The rose is a staple of love poetry, or any poetry, most notably of course Blake's 'Sick Rose', and you have added your own excellent twist to this, making the petals a home to secret desire. This is such a clever image and it is augmented by the dichotomy of beauty's sting. Excellent economy of expression. Well done.
