This is quite an emotional journey you are re-tracing or re-telling here. I hope that it will accomplish more than one thing. Even with all the vicious and hurtful events of the past, you have a tendency to point out something with a great turn of phrase every so often.

It's as if you still haven't grasped that you and your story have been completely embraced by the readers here. You've set out on a difficult and emotional journey and have had to pace yourself to ensure that you remain anchored in the present and don't end up returning to that dark, forbidding place. You've managed this brilliantly, taking us with you for support and understanding. And the reason for this is because you have the skill for your story to come direct from your heart in the most natural and emotive way. It is rare to find some one as appreciative as you for the those of us who were intrigued by you story and angry at those of your family that were cruel enough to harm innocent children and make them live in fear when all they wanted as to loved and respected.
