This is an evocative image which sounds like the start of a horror or thriller story. It's a terrifying prospect to imagine a child's toy brimming with evil purpose and interacting with a little person who is filled with innocence. Very powerful concept!

My friend Dean Kuch used to write this type of poem. Just like yours, his were often dark and delicious! I love how expressive you are and couldn't help but take notice. Smiles. Don't we all love an "evil" doll? Good luck.

    dear Kiwi girl, thank you for your review and the five stars. Dean (may he rest in peace) was a remarkably talented poet with a decided leaning towards the dark side. He was truly a "one of".

Lovely stuff. Dolls are so spooky aren't they! You have summed up a little horror story in seventeen syllables. The quiet irony of your deadpan delivery is subtle and effective. Well done!

That is absolutely terrifying. You were absolutely successful in writing a short horror poem. You will have to submit more when Halloween comes around again.
