What a comforting poem with images that bring to mind solace. I mostly enjoy the last stanza due its rhyme scheme of aabb. There is metaphor in "climbing the silver cord."

Hello Aiona, I wrote it for Sandra (as many of us did) she was overwhelmed with poems for the loss of her brother. Thanks for reading and welcome to Fanstory. K xx

I think it is important to have a faith where you can feel that loved ones will be waiting for you. Where you feel that you will be reunited with those you love. I would love to open my eyes to see Jesus, but I'm not sure I want him on a cloud...not even sure about pearly gates...maybe a big mountain! Well done.

A great poem, for Sandra, Kay. Death is not simply an end but a beginning .With Him to welcome you there is no need to be afraid. Those wholeft behind will grieve..

Hello, my friend, And yes, those left behind need to grieve. It's part of the human psyche. Everyone loses someone some time. Believe as we do, we will meet again in heaven. Blessings, Kay xx

Dear Kay, thank you so much. This poem is lovely, I can see Ian being greeted by Jesus, welcoming him home. I don't think it will be long before I join him. Time on Earth passes so fast. Thank you, my friend. This means a lot to me. Love Sandra xx

Hello Sandra, We don't know when but we know if the Lord wants us home, it will happen in His time.
There are times I wish I didn't wake up, physically useless. But I use my brain to get His message across the miles and will do so until I can no longer type. You are going through a grieving period and wishing your earthly life was over. Sandra, you have much to give. It's not our decision, Jesus knows your needs, lean on Him. Ask Him what more can you do? Your always friend, Kay xx

Kay, this is very beautiful, and it will surely comfort Sandra. How good to think of our loved ones who were ill, now, by Go's Mercy, being whole and healthy. Yes, Ian is with God; I believe that, too.
Thank you for sharing these strong and reassuring words.

This is sure to warm Sandra's heart, my friend. (It is also a wonderful poem for all of us.)
I especially enjoyed reading this verse:
Ian is whole and will wait for you
No more suffering, sickness
He has climbed the 'silver cord'
To live in his real home.
It is a lovely thing to know that we, too, will be meeting up with Ian one day. X X Lily
