What a beautiful doggy allegory. I really liked the fun little touches of the beagle adopting Sherlock Holmes' attire and snuggling into her much bigger and hairier friend for comfort. Our animals are so very human and they can teach us so much about ourselves (yes, even the fictional ones). Thank you for this lovely share.

Dear John, that was the sweetest story, and you did put a smile on my face. Which at the moment is hard. I'm like Bart, lying in front of the fire and not wanting to come out of my misery just yet. But I loved the message, and if God needed someone, Ian would be perfect. He has the nicest soul and was one of the nicest men to walk on Earth. Thank you, John, that was a precious story and message. Love, Sandra xx

The artwork is perfect. The signpost directing us elsewhere, perhaps to the source of the light that shines through the trees. A poem in a picture. Lovely writing too and an individual approach that works very well.

That is a sweet story and makes some good points. We never know why someone has to go on to heaven, and even more when we still see them as young. Ian will be whole again and may have an important job in heaven.

This is special, John, in so many different ways. There are chuckles and smiles along the path of grieving memories, and you have certainly set the course for Sandra to memorialize Ian with a smile or perhaps a chuckle. Best JohnC

This is a lovely and touching story. It made me smile and I hope it does the same for Sandra. Friendship is important in a time like this. Sometimes, that just means being there.

Thank you, Dolly. I?m not one to magically flow words to perfection as you and many others are so skilled at.
I just hope this gets Sandra to smile.
Thank you again.

Hi John. I found your little story so lovely! What a beautiful way to try and make Sandra smile during this very sad time of bereavement!! I could have done with something like this to cheer me up a couple of years ago!! I'm sure she will love this!

Love your story and love your beautiful photograph. It shows the light shafts reaching through the darkness and that's what we all want for our dear Sandra.

This is nice little story to hopefully lift Sandra's spirits. No ones to give up someone they love but it hurts to know we have friend who care want to see us smile again.
