This is unusual phrasing for a potter's wheel image. It could definitely look like that! I remember hearing about exsanguination on a murder mystery TV show. Definitely a more startling word. A reminder to put an apostrophe so it says potter's red wheel.

What a cool slant on an everyday commodity. Now THAT is the sign of a creative writer. I bet this will get far in the contest...hopefully right down to the Winner's Circle. Good luck. xoxo

I have no idea what the word (Exanguination) means Lea, I tried looking it up, but the dictionary did not know either. I would consider changing that word to something else for the contes, it is just a suggestion for you, love Dolly x x x

Beautifully done, Lea! I wonder if you yourself are a potter? Love the imagery of blood which reinforces the, almost, magically crafted creativity that we see here. The skill of the potter is always a source of wonder to me. Your first word should read Ex(s)anguination and might need an author's note? Good luck! Debbie

Thanks Debbie! Glad you like it! Thanks to for reading I appreciate your review on it. I like poetry too. I appreciate your review as always. And I'm going back with your Eagle eye. Rachelle's Eagle eye and all the eagles eyes out there and making one big colossus eyeball who will miss nothing! Lol. Thank you so much again!

I've meant to tell you before that you are an excellent poet. I've enjoyed the little poems you've scattered among you posts. This one is nicely worded. It should well in the contest. It is like the pot being cast on the potters wheel must endure some real torture before emerging beautiful. Sort of a metaphor for your life.
