This is a beautiful haiku, Gypsy.
I see in this flower not only grief, but love and hope that one day the tears will cease and be replaced by memories and the hope that one day they will be united again.
Best wishes,
Mary

What a beautiful haiku, Gypsy. The Japanese quince flowers known for there dark green leaves and deep red flowers. Your words carry through that they are indeed a flower of the cemetery. I am sure Sandra and her family are grieving and definitely deserves our prayers. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!

Gypsy,
A new genre - death Haiku!
Nicely penned with appropriate artwork and color scheme.
Like the snow idea combined with the bright red color.

Thank you for grieving with us, MariVal. I didn't know that quince flowers were used in cemeteries. I always seemed like a happy spring flower and Red is usually means something good.

I did a lot of research. There's a Japanese quince too so i thought that would be good for haiku. I had a specific image in my mind of red petals on the snow. They do grow in winter too.
I'm happy to contribute. I don't know her but she is part of our community and I feel bad for her. I can't imagine losing my younger brother 💔
Thank you, big sister.

💖💖The picture reminded me of the hanafuda card picture but the one I was thinking of was a plum blossom.
-
Does hanafuda grow in winter?
-
Hanafuda is a card game. The suit are the monthly seasons and some of them are flowers. I thought you already knew the Japanese card game. It's fun but hard to explain.
-
I don't know everything about Japanese culture, I wish would. I concentrate on poetry.
Love you ♥️

It was the Portuguese who brought card playing and gambling to Japan. When the emperor heard about it, he outlawed card games so the Japanese made their own card game - hanafuda.

Hi MariVal,
a beautifully crafted Haiku... the coloured contrast leaves a vivid impression.
Such a loving-caring gesture for our dear Sandra. I only saw yesterday that Ian had transitioned. He was a brave man who made a difficult choice. I hope I get to read everything written for Sandra and Ian... she is a special lady and I'm sure she'll love what you've given with an unconditional love.
With our thoughts we create...
the comfort of love.
Warmest regards,
James.

Thank you very much, James. I don't know Sandra but she is part of our community and I feel awful... poor lady. I don't know anything about his death.

Marival

Beautifully written, meaningful and appropriate for the circumstance. It's been a shock to all of us, and it's hard when one loses a younger sibling. I know a bit about this as it hit close to home. Thank you for supporting in such a beautiful and tender way, a FS friend.
