You spin a really good tale for this contest. Your creativity in writing a back story to the legend of Casey is outstanding.
One suggestion. I'm not sure how putting sticks up against and tunnel and the top of the train would work, especially in the dark. It would seem to me when the train starts, that could cause a problem with the sticks and rocks.
My suggestion would be to think about the setting...Casey's in the dark, on top of the train...how does it work? Paint the picture for the reader.
Just an idea. See what you think. Overall it's a very good story and should do well in this contest. Terry.

Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate the fact it may have seemed true, but only small elements of it were, such as Sam Webb (though I had him meet Casey earlier in life) and Casey's wife.

Thank you for sharing this. It brought back a lot of memories for me as a child. My mother would take us kids to the museum and let us buy something small there. Blessings, teri
