I am late getting to this story, but congratulations on winning the flash fiction contest. I think it is funny and of course controversial in the political world today. And very creative. Well done! Terry.

Succinct. Your story is certainly hole-in-one. The word 'torched' is very powerful,( although I will have to ask my golfer brother if it is a golfing term as I am ignorant about anything apart from par and birdie). The wry last line is acidic.

Congratulations on your win and thank you for your defense of biological women! I'm all for everyone being treated with respect and able to live in safety without being persecuted, but fair is fair, and when someone clearly has a significant biological advantage and is competing at an elite level against others who do not, then that is not fair.

Wow. I'm humbly grateful for the positive reviews. I don't think I had negative reaction.

Hi Forest.
I think though the picture shows a fun way that the golfer celebrated, this short story brings up a controversy in sport for transgender women. I think the last line is a good pun for what was removed for the person to become a woman. I think it a bit unfair for her to golf on the woman's circuit for her strength from being previously male may give her a big advantage.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Congrats on winning the contest.
Have a great weekend.

Awesome! Congratulations on your win - this had a new twist indeed.
I don't think we need to rise up against anyone; we need to work together towards equality in sports and other areas.
I happen to agree with you on the unfairness of this. I also consider myself part of the "woke mob".
Congratulations again.

Congrats on your contest win! So well-deserved! I loved your story which you perfectly recounted here within the restrictive word count. That descriptive detail of "slack-jawed" is superb and the punch-line hilarious. Take care Debbie

Thanks. Appreciate the recognition.

This is clever. I got I good laugh from it and I see this one as a winner. I personally don't think it is quite far for someone with the build and strength of a man to compete in a women's division. Bui I loved the quip.

Thanks! I had fun making what I consider a serious issue for women.

This definitely makes a strong point, more than just a simple joke or pun. I can tell you did your research, since after looking up the longest drive made by a woman golfer, it sounds like 344 yards would definitely make people sit up and notice it. Good luck in that contest!

Hi Stan,
Your story is very well written in classic flash fiction form, including the stinger in the tail.
I'm glad to see you weren't afraid to stand up to modern thought and protect what women fought so hard to get.
Good luck in the contest,
Take care,
Rhonda
