Hello Navada,
this is so funny. I guess because it's so relatable. My mind has a tendency to wonder like a river- a very crooked one. I like to use a thesaurus at times, but it's no help at all when I'm searching for the right word and can't come up with it. Of course there isn't an invention that can tell you which word you want, which is probably a good thing. Well done gal.
Blessings,
Tom

Very unique and creative. Draws the reader into your POV...and I am not surprised this won. Bravo and kudos on your win.

Perfectly paced, and excellent use of spacing to effect dramatic pause and carry cadences.

Favorite bit:

I do remember the time

that mangy seagull with one leg

stole our hot chips at a picnic

and pooped all over my mother's handbag.

Ha!

Everyone found that hilarious.

Except Mum.

Superb use of poetic devices like alliteration of H, E, P, S and the medley of M sounds as well.

Warmly,
rd

Love this. I think any writer who says they have never had writers block... is hiding the truth! Lol
Thank goodness our muse is usually just lurking around the corner... sometimes teasing us... but eventually hopping out to inspire us once again. Great job and thanks for sharing this with us.

This is really funny. It almost embarrassing to admit this isn't so far different to the way I've felt at times. When it gets that bad you might as forget it and take a lunch break So this was a winner. I can why. It is a accurate but amusing portrayal of a case of writer's block

-Good artwork and nice presentation, Nevada.
-I can see why you won the contest;
a very creative entry, from the topic
to the images and the way you presented it.
-You get across the issue of writer's block very well.
-The writer sits there and got a brainstorm about
a great topic, then sits there wondering what it
was with varying scenarios.
-The lunch idea was probably a good one
unless a seagull stole part of it, ha, ha.
-Congratulations on the win. Well done!!

I love the stream of consciousness style you've written with here - fantastic! And the long spaces between thoughts - apropos for your subject. And the way you wander into the weeds time and time again . . . anything to keep from writing, lol!

I'm so glad you won this contest - I laughed all the way through it!

I don't suffer writer's block - my problem is just the opposite as I always have 3 or more stories floating around in my head.

The ending was perfect - go to lunch!

Really enjoyed this.

The person's going through with that die tribe. Because it goes through my mind sometimes too. Really great job and fine idea behind it too. Just give it to him straight perfect. I see no issues with grammar esthetics, sentence structure or subject matter. Is an excellent entry. Congratulations on the win and I hope you're having a great evening!

Lol You have really caught the dynamics of a horrible period of writer's block. It is easy to see why this is the contest winner. Congratulations, Navada!

This great little poem is about a common phenomenon -writer's block. i usually don't have that problem, have too much to write and have to shut it down after a while.
